LUXURIOUS SIGNATURE SCENTS AT HOME

Home should be a place of refuge, comfort, nourishment and pleasure.  Furnishings, art and personal items help to define our space, but one key element provides a finishing & personalized touch:  fragrance.

I am addicted to ANTICA FARMACISTA - a Seattle based purveyor of fine fragrances for the home.  Their warm, elegant and luxurious Home Ambiance collection of scents will add an immediate air of sophistication to any abode. The exquisite packaging includes a delicate apothecary bottle filled with fragrance oil, and white birch reeds which are rotated in the bottle as often as desired to infuse the scent that is released.  The Room Fragrance collection includes Room and Linen sprays and beautiful soy/paraffin wax candles in corresponding scents as an alternative or an addition to the Home Ambiance line.

The deliciously unique fragrances in the collection are lust-worthy:
*Ingredients are listed for my favourites although I want to try them all!

  • Casablanca: {Pure essence of Casablanca Lily blended with the exotic Ylang Ylang and subtle notes of clove.}

  • Amber: {Warm & harmonious subtle wood essence enhancing the natural sweetness of Amber.}

  • Green Fig {Fico Verde}: {Green notes of cut grass, luscious fruits, soft violet and wild fig.}

  • Champagne: {Satsuma citrus balanced with floral notes of muguet, sensuous apricot, nectarine and passionfruit complemented by sugared black currant and mellow accents of sweet vanilla.}

  • No. II. {New for Fall/Holiday 2009!}: Sicilian mandarin, French verbena & blood orange meet the traditional holiday spice scents of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and spruce. Earthy neroli softens the citrus and spice.}

  • Aria {Air}
  • Cedar & Lemon
  • Santorini
  • Acqua {Water}
  • Grapefruit
  • Magnolia, Orchid and Mimosa
  • Pomegranate and Currant
  • Peonia, Gardenia and Rosa
  • Vanilla, Mandarin and Bourbon
  • Tuberose, Hyacinth, Lily of the Valley
  • Orange Blossom, Lilac & Jasmine
CASABLANCA is my absolute favourite of them all, and is one of the signature scents in my home.  Kept on the console in my foyer {and on the dresser in my bedroom} this soft, feminine scent {inspired by the Casablanca Lily} gives home the feel of a posh villa in the French Riviera!

Created exclusively for Fall/Holiday 2009, Number 11 is a contemporary twist on classic fragrances reminiscent of holiday luxury. Presented in beautiful red packaging, this spicy scent is a gorgeous version of a classic holiday favourite!

An exquisite cut crystal decanter {shown above} is available in all fragrances of The Home Ambiance collection as an alternative to the apothecary style bottle.  Available in both 250ml and 500ml sizes, this would make the perfect gift!

Antica Farmacista also features Antica for the Body - a line that includes Perfume, Body Moisturizer, Bath & Shower Wash, and Hand Wash in the same fragrances as the home collections.

{Special Holiday Offer Exclusive to The Roni Report!}

Receive a complimentary 100 ml. Magnolia, Orchid and Mimosa Home Ambiance fragrance with any online purchase!

ARE WE IN HELLO KITTY HEAVEN??

First name, Hello, last name, Kitty is 35 years old!!! In commemoration, SANRIO is doing it big with a multi-dimensional exhibition and celebration of all things Hello Kitty!!  The exhibition is cleverly named, "Three Apples" - a nod to Hello Kitty's weight {as listed in her official bio}! How cute is this?!?  SANRIO partnered with over 80 acclaimed artists who were invited to interpret their creative vision of Hello Kitty in unique, original works that will be on display and for sale!! OMG!

This is a landmark event - the first that SANRIO has ever produced for Hello Kitty fans in North America! The entire exhibition {which officially opened today} will go from October 23rd to November 15th in Culver City, California {~aka~ LA}, is free of charge and will appeal to HK fans of all ages!!

If you aren't based in LA or at least bi-coastal, I suggest you hurry up & pull together a vacation, business trip or something immediately, and get here to see this awesome "Pop-Culture-Meets-Art" masterpiece!  I somehow missed the memo on the star-studded opening night event last night, and I am just too sick about it!  Looks like Paris Hilton and my fellow Taurean & HK lover Kimora Lee Simmons {with the adorable Ming & Aoki} were there.  I'm sure it was a spectacular evening and even more sure that the the gift bags were delicious! {I'll have to do some research to see what was in the bags}!  Suddenly, my weekend plans have changed...I'm going to HK Candyland - I'm so obsessed! I'll be there in my treasured Pinkhead by Tarina Tarantino HK necklace!!

The 2010 Porsche Panamera

Porsche has always had that certain "New England Prep" meets "Trust Fund Baby" meets "middle-aged-guy-having-mid-life-crisis" sort of flavor to it, in my opinion {I'm referring to the Carrera}.  Add to that, luxe sports car flair, German craftsmanship and a uniqueness to it.  Then came along the Porsche Cayenne - which I absolutely adore, and which convinced me that a Porsche could actually be a car that I would drive.  {In fact, the Cayenne is about to become my next automobile very shortly}!  Now, Porsche has taken things to an entirely different level...

Meet the 2010 Porsche Panamera.

A four-door luxury sedan.

It's being presented as an alternative to the Mercedes CLS63 AMG, the Lamborghini Estoque, the Aston Martin Rapide and my baby girl... the Maserati Quattroporte.  Porsche is also hopeful that {considering the current state of the economy} the Panamera might be considered as a less expensive option to the Bentley Continental Flying Spur or Mercedes S63 AMG.

I'll take it in the custom Cognac Metallic {with the Mahogany as 2nd choice}.
Priced at $89,000 - $135,000.
Lovely. I'm all about a good car!

CHIC BEACH

Summer =
  • Endless Sunshine
  • Lazy Days
  • Exotic Vacations
  • The French Riviera
  • Fabulous appearances at the beach
  • Sexy pool parties
  • A cruise on someone or another's boat
  • Glamorous Swimsuits
  • Vintage-inspired, oversized sunglasses
  • Floppy Hats
  • Cute tote-bags and an often overlooked accessory that we should discuss...
  • The Beach Towel! Luxurious, large, fluffy, soft, and super-colorful - my favourite choices! Let's peek at some must-haves!
Hermes, a leader in classic luxury, gives great horse & saddle! This beach towel captures their iconic equestrian spirit! It's all yours for $530.

Pucci is always giving good towel. This "Orchidea" print in plush velour mirrors the multicolored, graphic style of their design house.

More fun from Pucci (above). This year's "STAR" - printed plushness... and what is this? A matching tunic? Four stars for Pucci. Love it!

Another color-wonder to love, Sir Paul Smith, whose brilliant, rainbow-licious flavored signature stripes feel so Willy Wonka-ish! Striped beach towel above, fab bikini, below.

2009 was a big year for Matthew Williamson (beach towel below) - with 2 successful H&M collaborations under his belt, he is just unstoppable and without a doubt, has reached household- name status! Another master of color infused with great design, he gifted H&M'ers with beach towels to go with the other fun pieces in his Spring and Summer collections!

Missoni is always pure perfection. My favorite family from Italy features beautiful patterns and colors for the beach....

Leopard printed ("Ipanema") and butterfly ("Jamelia")rainbows?? Terrific!

How clever of Lacoste! This "Chemise" beach towel caught me completely off-guard! Yes, we do expect them to do great cotton pique polo style shirts, but an uber-cool beach towel? Completely unexpected. Even more unexpected, was the fact that this beach towel features a "stack" of folded polos in rainbow flavors! An excellent option for the man in your life.{above}

Josie Natori... a name synonymous with cute pajamas, has entered into the beach towel game!
This "Geisha" towel is just divine! Natori hit the mark with this!

See you at the beach!

THI$ BOOK WILL $AVE YOUR LIFE!

Today's economic rainstorm has many people around the globe running for cover. Not just us: the fashion-loving, shoe-obsessed, dress-and-bag-a-holics of the world who love to splurge, it's everyone (from Billionaires all the way to negative $10 bank account holders). The Hollywood community is no exception to this rule, and the traditional "money-is-no-object" idealism is no longer feasible.

Kenny Golde, Director, Producer, Writer and now author of 'The Do-It-Yourself Bailout' shares his secrets on how he amassed $212,000 in credit card debt while pursuing his dreams as a filmmaker, then magically reduced it to $30,000 in six months!

How'd he do it, you wonder? Well, Golde was able to negotiate settlements on debts directly with the banks (without involving or paying any 3rd party agencies)! This is a great option to consider as a route to eliminate debt quickly, and is certainly a less painful alternative than bankruptcy, which will leave a blemish on your profile for many years after filing!

This book will lead you through the process of facing your fear... looking Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover right in the eyes and doing what it takes to bid farewell to debt!

CBS News in Los Angeles calls this book "a must read".

I say, this book will "save your life", and is an invaluable tool to help get your "financial house" in order! The $19 price is a nominal investment in your journey to affluence!

Also, Kenny Golde will host a live seminar on Saturday, August 15th, 2009, to introduce and teach the very methods he used to conquer debt! The cost to attend the seminar is $69, and all registrants will receive a complimentary copy of 'The Do-It-Yourself Bailout'!

Visit www.settleyourcreditcards.com to request your copy of the book, or
RSVP FOR THE 8/15/09 SEMINAR HERE!
May your cups runneth over.

MICHAEL JACKSON FOREVER...

It's all over the news and the internet. We have lost an icon.
Michael Jackson, 50, has died in Los Angeles today. This is unimaginable.
I am stunned, saddened, and overwhelmed by this news.

At age 6 or 7 years old (or something like that), I lost a tooth and was instructed to leave it under my pillow for the tooth fairy. The Tooth Fairy must've forgotten to do the deed sometime in the dark of the night, so right around the crack of dawn, she tiptoed into my room, and slid her hand underneath my pillow. This warm gesture awakened me, but I remained still so as not to disturb the process. The Tooth Fairy had done the most amazing thing... she left me Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall" cassette tape!! That Tooth Fairy made a major impact on my life from that day. She helped me to discover my love for one of the greatest entertainers on the planet. Michael Jackson. Thanks, Mom.

He will be forever missed and forever in my heart. Rest in peace, Michael.

The Gatsby Hollywood

During a recent leisurely drive up a Hollywood street, I stumbled upon a charming new community of homes called, The Gatsby Hollywood. The series of townhomes had such an elegant, East Coast quality to them and I was compelled to pull in for an open house visit.
What I saw was quite impressive...
"As L.A.'s first all-solar and all-green powered urban community, The Gatsby Hollywood is as legendary as its famed location. In addition, the California Green Builder program has recognized The Gatsby Hollywood as a Certified California Green Community, which means this innovative new-home collection not only lowers your utility costs, but also minimizes the community's impact—and your footprint—on the environment!"
It was easy to envision living at The Gatsby! Two blocks south of Sunset Blvd., with three levels of environmentally responisible living space plus a rooftop deck with unbelievable 360° views of the city! Are you kidding? To add, the homes come equipped with high-end appliances, hardwoods and finishes leaving little to be desired. I was ready to move in immediately.
With prices starting in the $700's, this is a remarkable opportunity to own a home in the heart of Hollywood! Tell them we sent you.

STAR TREK is ..............SEXY?

Star Trek is a sensational film. Really. Even the girliest of girly-girls living in their pink little worlds can appreciate this film! (I should know). It's exciting, thrilling and you know what... it's quite sexy even! Of course Chris Pines (the new Captain Kirk) delivers the hotness factor - big time, but please do not sleep on Zachary Quinto as the brilliant and hyper-logical Vulcan, Spock. In this new installment of the epic science-fiction series, Spock and Uhura (played by the super cute Zoey Saldana) are romantic and might we add, with some serious chemistry! Both characters are these absolute braniacs.... brilliant and intelligent never looked so hot!

TRR is obviously not alone in thinking this - Star Trek is currently pushing over $150 million at the box office at only 3 weeks out! Can't wait to see where they go with the new wind that has been blown into this franchise.

The Buzz Girls

The Buzz Girls decended upon the dazzling Guess by Marciano boutique at The Grove in Los Angeles this Tuesday for mixing, mingling, shopping, & of course, BUZZING in association with C Magazine!!

What an ingenious concept! One part fabulous, stylish female entertainment & lifestyle executives (from just about every arm of the industry), one part exciting LA locations & venues (restaurants, spas, boutiques, motion picture studios, etc.), and add in one part coveted products, services, gifts and the like, and you have The Buzz Girls!

At a series of private, invitation-only events, products are placed in the well-manicured hands of tastemakers and style-influencers who are not only able to give valuable feedback to the partnering brands, but they are ALSO able to get the word out in a MAJOR way to the movers and shakers in the entertainment world - ultimately paving the way for these products to land in films, television, magazine pages, on red carpets and in all the right places!

How Brilliant! You never know where they'll be next!

The Cooks Library

I've been meaning to visit this place. Now, procrastination has come back to bite me. It's closing on April 30th. This is so sad. For those of us who are or have aspirations to be gourmet cooks, this was the perfect resource to have under our belts. A bookstore dedicated solely to cookbooks, chefs and food, for the domestic godess in all of us! How brilliant! Unfortunately, web giants like Amazon.com and big-boxers Borders & Barnes & Noble were impossible to compete with.
This economy has so many casualties.

Now, we have 30 days to visit this little gem on West 3rd Street in Los Angeles, to find beautiful books to build our cookbook libraries with. Items are marked down 20% for now, and the markdown will increase in the weeks leading to the closing.

SHOPPING JUST GOT MORE EXPENSIVE

Life in LA-LA Land will cost a tad bit more as of April 1, 2009.
On April Fool's Day, California will impose a new sales tax increase of 1 cent per dollar, bringing our sales tax from 8.25% to 9.25%.

This increase is set to remain in effect until July 1, 2011 and may extend to July 1, 2012.

The good news is, this is the last weekend to save!
(Especially those in the market to purchase big ticket items.)

The bad news is, NOBODY is happy about this. (Lawmakers, get it together please)! Stay tuned...

Roni
